    Information

The story takes place in a small provincial town at Yannena (Greece), during the years of occupation of the Second World War. The Perdkiaris family is a typical depiction of an upper-class provincial family, characterized by bigotry, greed, fraud, complicity, reciprocity, and distrust, which has been distraught by its own mistakes and self-hypocrisy. This institution will collapse from within when the family's only child, the young teacher Margarita, will initiate her own resistance against the Germans by joining a populist movement. Ready to rebel against her family's intrinsic values, Margarita finds the ultimate way to escape.

    FAITH

A FAREWELL CONCERT FOR BISHOP SEVASTIANOS

Cyprus New York Productions under the auspices of the consulate general of the republic of Cyprus in new York presents the unique concert FAITH with exceptional tenor and cantor Demetris Michael.

On this spiritual journey through the centuries, Faith becomes a solid chain that links and merges Byzantine Hymns, Gregorian Chants, Operatic Arias, Gospel, musical theater and pop music.

Faith is not just words on a page or in a song, it is a way of life, it is an acceptance of what we cannot see but feel deep within our hearts.

FAITH is a farewell concert dedicated to our beloved Bishop Sevastianos, who will continue his great in Atlanta.

Demetris Michael was trained in Classical and in Byzantine music, where he received his diploma from the Patriarchate of Constantinople. Demetris incredible technic allows him to switch easily from one style of music to another, not only with easiness but also and more importantly with accuracy. Demetris will be accompanied by a pianist, a flutist, a cellist and two sopranos.

Phyto Stratis Artistic and Musical Director.
